System Infrastructure Services Section

We provide support in the following areas:

Version Control Systems

Version Control Systems are used in order to keep track of changes and history mainly for source code. We have offered a Central CVS Service since 2002, since January 2009 The new Central SVN service replace the CVS service so no new CVS projects are beeing created and active CVS projects are encouraged to migrate to SVN.

SVN Service

Any CERN user can request a Subversion (SVN) repository for their professional version control needs. For more information, please visit:

CVS Services

PLEASE NOTE:No new CVS projects are created

Concurrent Versions System (CVS) is a network-transparent program that allows developers to keep track of different development versions of source code. It also lets a team of developers share control of different versions of files in a common repository of files. When a developer wants a particular development version of a file, CVS will reconstruct that version based on its records.

We provide two CVS Services:

Questions can be sent to: CVS.Support@cern.ch

Licence Monitoring

We run and maintain the License Monitoring System (LicMon) including statistics of license use at CERN, a product database and current usage of the products. We also provide system support for the LICMAN and LICELAN Central FlexLM license servers.

Questions can be sent to: license.monitoring@cern.ch

J2EE Public Service

We run and maintain the J2EE Public Service providing a central server infrastructure for deployment of java server-side (servlet/jsp) applications at CERN.

Questions can be sent to: j2ee-public-service.support@cern.ch
